one to go
yesterday i promised you a recount of my superstition on buying a new, much needed pair of birkenstock bostons.
i gave in.
i bought a pair off ebay.
if you want to see them, here you go.
i have had my present pair for almost 2 years. and i wear them virtually every day, so i am surprised i have been able to go this long without buying a new pair. the soles on the backs are beginning to deteriorate at lightning speed and now that cork on the bottom of the heels is starting to slough off.
yeah.
it�s time for a new pair.

i told jami last night.
�i want to tell you something, but you can not tell mom and dad,� i said in a whisper. my face was stern and my voice held no inflection whatsoever.
�what?� she asked. her eyes had gotten bigger and she had a genuine look of concern on her face.
�and don�t scream either,� i continued. i must have let a smirk cross my face at this point because she started to smile.
�you�re pregnant!� she exclaimed in a whisper-yell.
at this point she started to jump up and down while holding her hands over her mouth and trying not to scream at the top of her lungs.
all i could say is, �please stop jumping!!�
i just knew she was going to rouse the suspicion of mom and dad who were only two rooms away.
but she didn�t.
i wish everyone would act as enthusiastically thrilled as jami.
that would make this even better.

we told chris�s parents last night too.
when we first got to their house, chris�s sister was there with le-le and jessica (our neices) and since i�m not that far along, we decided not to tell her just yet.
�well, we�re going to have a yungun,� chris said as he sat on the back poarch steps.
paul d. looked up at me and said, �what?�
and at the same time, peggy said, �really?�
chris just smiled and i couldn�t help but to smile as well.
we started talking about my due date and names for the baby. you know. general pregnancy stuff.
one set of parents down, one to go.
