the janie stare
janie has been acting so differently lately. and not in a good way either. i guess if it was in a good way, i wouldn't have started this entry out janie has been acting so differently lately � would i? last thursday nancy called me to let me know that janie was running a fever. i took her to the urgent care clinic at the hospital and the doctor there seemed to be concerned about her coughing so much and for so long. he gave her two shots (one in each leg). one was an antibiotic and the other a steroid. since then she has been on zithromax and prednisone (which i think is causing her to slowly go insane).
i remember when she was on albuterol... she was much worse than she is now... and there is an end in sight with the prednisone. but when you type in a medicine your child is on into wikipedia, you don't want to read the words facial swelling, rash, insomnia, depression, mania, other psychiatric symptoms, blurred vision, peptic ulcer, painful hips or shoulders. i mean... what kind of psychiatric symptoms can even be diagnosed with a 2-year-old?
i am glad that i looked it up, though. she is on the prednisone for seven days, and then every other day for seven more days. apparently that is to ween her off the medicine slowly because an abrupt stop in the medicine CAN CAUSE ADRENAL SUPPRESSION.

*sigh*
this is getting scarier and scarier. but the doctor did say that he was going to fix this cough.
and damnit, he meant it.
janie has this way of staring at you non-stop if she gets in trouble, or gets mad, or whatever. here's the janie-stare:
the first picture looks much worse than the second, because atleast she closed her mouth in the 2nd one.
dang. that stare makes me SO FRIGGIN' MAD sometimes. because i think i would rather her throw a fit. can you discipline a kid for staring at you? whatcha gonna do? say stop looking at me! like a kid yourself?
