wow

last summer, i bought two skirts. one was blue denim and the other was an olive green denim. i knew the blue one would fit but be tight because it was a size smaller than i would normally buy, but it had just enough stretch in the fabric that i would be able to squeeze into it.

the green one, on the other hand, did not have any stretch to it what-so-ever. and it was a size smaller than the blue one. i bought it because, a)it was on sale, b) i LOVE green and it looked nicer than the blue one that i could actually wear, and c) because it was the only one in that color. there weren't any in the size that i needed in the olive green.

i could sqeeze into the green one, but i couldn't sit down comfortably. which meant that i never actually wore the green one.

i wore the blue one numerous times last summer. it was cute and summery and i always got compliments when i wore it. which made it my favorite thing to wear, of course.

when fall arrived, i threw both skirts in the back of my closet and haven't really thought about either of them until today.

i came across the blue one when i was trying to find something springy to wear today because the weather is absolutely BEAUTIFUL outside and the high today is 70° (which is not that odd for february in south alabama). so i put it on.

i buttoned and zipped it and ran into the den.

"CHRIS!!!! LOOK!!!!" i yelled as i pulled the waist out from my tummy.

"oh my goodness... it's WAY too big..." he said. he actually had an astonished look on his face. i LOVED it. :)

"i gotta go find the green one!!! you know, the one i couldn't sit down in?"

so i started throwing things out of the top of my closet onto the floor and i finally came across the green one.

i pulled it on, button and zipped it.

and it is big enough that i can take it off without unbuttoning or unzipping it. it is a bit big, but it is comfortable. hmmmmm.... i wonder if i can find these skirts again....and buy a couple more. :)

i slipped on a longsleeve black shirt and my polkadot flip flops and walked back into the den.

"wow..."

"yeah, i know. i thought i had wasted my money when i bought this thing last summer," i said with a big huge grin on my face.

he just stared at me for a couple of minutes. so i walked into the kitchen to get something to drink.

and as i walked back into the den, he was still staring at me.

"wow..."

:)
