fire prevention 06
this week is fire prevention week.
and yesterday was our town's fire prevention parade. janie was so excited to go to the rade. she ended up with a bucket full of cany and beads (of which i plan on reusing about half of for halloween candy - sad, isn't it?).
there are three parades in our hometown. the homecoming parade. the fire prevention parade. the Christmas parade. the homecoming parade is fun, but it is nothing compared to the other two. the fire prevention parade was so long that janie got tired of picking up candy about half way through and decided to just sit in pop's lap. part of it had to do with the fact that it was about 92º outside and there was no shade in site.
i can't wait for the Christmas parade! it is always after the sun has gone down and the floats are lit up with Christmas tree lights. it is always so pretty. i remember standing in the exact same spot when i was 10 years old watching these parades. i am so glad that my child can do the same.
