dennis the menace
i have just over a week left of vacation before i have to go to another conference. this conference is for new career/tech teachers and it will be five days and five nights long. what really sucks is that chris is suppose to come home on the night of friday the 15th and i will have to leave for tuscaloosa on the afternoon of sunday the 17th. he will have janie all by himself from sunday afternoon until tuesday. he�s never kept her for two nights by himself before.
of course, he�s not worried about it at all. and i am not saying that i am worried. not in the least. but it will be a little strange.
for him and for janie.
hurricane dennis is looming over the gulf right now. i think he�s actually in the carribean, but by the end of this weekend, we should feel his effects.
they (the news/weather anchors) are calling him �dennis the menace� and remember, we just had �ivan the terrible� no more than nine months ago.
i sure hope that dennis is not as strong as ivan was. we got the good side of ivan and we were still without power and water for a number of days.
tropical storm cindy came through today. it was just a lot of rain. not too much wind. but i didn�t think it would ever quit raining. my plan was to take janie to daycare and go to the school to get some work done for my classes. but when i looked out the door at all the standing water in my front yard, i was like, "nope. not driving in that."
i just can�t seem to handle driving in rain ever since janie and i hydroplaned off the interstate. i tense up at the wheel and grip the steering wheel so tight that my knuckles turn white and i can�t feel my fingers.
which is just what you need when driving in rain. not to be able to feel your fingers.
*wink*
anyway, i just looked over the assignments for my classes and it looks like i am going to be working my ass off for the next couple of days.
*sigh*
