i recently found my hot glue gun
so, sunday my daddy and jason were in the garage building a work-bench for jason. and chris picked up janie to spend the afternoon with her. so there i was, ugly rainy day, no photo shoot planned, and i recently found my hot glue gun... hmmm....

i had put the clear plastic cups aside that i would need to do this little project. and i knew that i could find some Christmas lights somewhere (there happened to be a strand in the garage where daddy and jason were working).
i took some left over ribbon from janie's hair bows (i have been collecting ribbon for about 8 years now...) and my hot glue gun and i attached the ribbon to the outside of the plastic cups. then i poked a hole in the bottom of the cups (not as easy as it seems, i promise you...) and then i poked a light thru each cup.
and voila!
little lamp shades for the strand of Christmas lights (that now adorn the top of janie's window in her play room). the really cool thing is that she use to wear those ribbons in her hair when she was younger. she probably doesn't remember it, but i do :)
