pappies anonymous

since janie was a little, tee-niny, baby, she has had one thing that has stayed constant in her life until two days ago... her pappy.

janie's pappy has changed over the years.... different colors... different textures.... different sizes... but always the same brand. always the same basic shape. she would go through color phases when she only wanted her yellow pappy, or only wanted the while pappy. and no one was going to bed that night unless janie had the correct pappy.

no one.

she would even want her pappy color to correspond to her pajamas. if she was wearing pink, we had to have a pink pappy. same goes for green, yellow, blue... and so on.

janie's pappy has been an ongoing issue for the past 18 months or so. my parent's (a.k.a. nana & pop) have wanted me to take her pappy away since she turned two years old. but i silently protested (because that was just one more step to my baby not being a baby anymore...) by giving in to janie's desire to have her pappy.

she has now gone 48 hours, pappy free.

she still asks for her pappy at night, and i am pretty sure that will continue for a while. but there will come a day that she doesn't ask for it and i am pretty sure i will blog about that too.

i spent some time yesterday going through pictures trying to find ones that showed janie with her pappy. i realized then, that i usually make her put it up, or atleast take it out of her mouth when i want to snap a picture. therefore, out of the thousands upon thousands of pictures i have of janie, i only have 17 pictures of her with her pappy.

and, of course, i had to dedicate a webalbum to them. even though i am happy that she is no longer pappy-addicted, i sure do miss that little, tee-niny baby with the big pappy in her mouth... *sniffle*

my baby's growing up...
