hospitality

today (and for the past three days) my father and my husband have been making some minor changes to the roofline of our new house.

now... i say minor changes, because overall the look of the house will not change that much. it will change for the better asthetically, but the way it is made will be much better. we have even had neighbors (which we aren't use to having) come by to comment on the progress of the house in general.

we were also told that one neighboring couple had talked about moving because this house looked so bad (as in, not being taken care of) and they were worried that it was going to affect (?effect?) their property value. but since we had moved in and chris had taken so much time in the yard (it took him 2 days to just rake the front yard) and with all the other things that we are doing, they had decided they might just have to stay.

:)

this neighborhood has welcomed us with open arms. we have gotten food from numerous people which has been very appreciated.

i guess good old southern hospitality isn't dead after all.

here are a few pictures of the roof progress, and of course, a few pictures of my janie....
