janie goes to forida
pictures!! i have new pictures!
janie and i went to see chris on saturday. he had to work all weekend, so if we didn't drive to florida (or forida, as janie says), we weren't going to get to see him at all. so at 11 o'clock on saturday morning, we set off for forida.
thankfully, janie fell asleep about 30 minutes into the trip. it took just over 3 hours (about 200 miles) and she slept for almost 2 hours of it. by the time she woke up, she was in a great mood and ready to see her daddy.
when we got there, we went into the trailer to put some stuff up (like janie-groceries because she is just like her mother and a very picky eater). but janie was ready to play. there isn't much to do at this trailer lot. nothing, actually. there is a golf course nearby and apparently chris had gotten bored one afternoon and picked up about 20 stray golf balls. so janie played with them.
after throwing and picking up the golf balls about 12 times, janie got bored with that.
so we set out for town -- which was 14 miles away. we found a dollar general store and bought some cheap little toys like a pail and shovel set and a "pone" -- a phone in janie-ese. we were set! so we headed back to the trailer.
by the time we got back, chris was already there. (thank goodness!)

we drove home sunday, and unlike saturday, janie did not sleep a wink the whole way home.
all-in-all she was pretty darn good for a three-year-old who was stuck in a car seat for over 3 hours. but i did get tired of listening to lean on me by the veggietales over and over again. but it did keep her happy.
when we got home, we ate and slept for like 2 hours. then it was time to go see nana and pop. i took out my way-cool-camera yet again and took some pictures of the random flowers in my parents' back yard.
