the perfect storm
hurricane katrina hit monday. it is now friday. i just talked to chris and our power just came back on. yesterday they hooked it up WRONG and our dvd/stero went up in flames. *sigh* we don't know how much other stuff is worthless now.
but it doesn't seem like that big of a deal right now. chuck has lost his house. there are people in new orleans dying in the street. this is not how people in america are suppose to live. this is the land of opportunity. and now the gulf coast looks like some foreign planet -- especially in new orleans.
the news is mesmerizing. i don't want to watch it....but somehow i just can't help it. and then i am glued to it. the devastation is unparralleled to anything i could have even IMAGINED.
i am ready for life to get back to normal FOR EVERYBODY.
