chocolate

janie started running a fever friday afternoon when i picked her up from the sitters. it was only about 100, but that is still a fever. we gave her some motrin and headed for the house. i had to be at memory night by 5:30 and i was so tired. chris had come home the night before, so he was going to keep janie for me that night.

memory night went fine. everyone told me i did a great job.

*whew*

saturday was the family reunion. it was at peggy & pauls house. janie and i got there around 10:30 or so. she was in an ill mood, but had no fever. she perked up once she saw there were other little kids to play with. she laid down for a nap around 1 and when she woke up she was running a fever of about 101. i took her home and put her back in her crib (after giving her some Tylenol, of course).

that night i noticed a few little red whelps on her arm. and one on her face. i just figured it was mosquito bites.

and then on sunday they started multiplying. her fever got up to 104 and she was acting VERY strange. by 5 oclock on sunday, those 4 little red welps were covering over half of her little body.

the emergency room doctor said that it was more than likely a virus. A VIRUS? i HATE that word. a virus is something you cannot kill. i thought it was an allergic reaction. NOT A VIRUS.

anyway, after 1600 milligrams of Tylenol and a shot of benedryl, we were on our way home. and by 45 minutes after the shot, janie looked like herself again.

THANK GOD.

the sitter hasnt called me today to let me know that my child looks like a leper. so i really, really, really hope that means the whelps didnt come back.
