roof
today has been a blah-day. i think it's because i have so much to do...and it is overwhelming. i could have spent the day unpacking boxes, but why? because the rooms that most of the stuff will go in are empty because we want them empty... because they need painting or whatever.
i could have painted.
but with janie here, i don't think that would have been a good idea. i can just picture it now... a paint roller and a pan of paint with a high-strung three year old in the same room?
nah.
i'll pass.
so, i found a few things that i had been looking for since the move, like the bathroom rug and..well...actually, that's all i found in the maze of boxes that fills both the living room and the garage.
i have got to get out of this slump. i haven't felt like this in a long time. i have a feeling it is because school is starting back and we have SO much to do in this house.
chris and daddy have spent the past two days on the roof fixing the leak problem.
yeah.
we have a leak.
a REALLY bad leak, actually. the roofline on this house is very strange in places, and the pitch on one place is only about 8° so they are changing that to be about 17° which will help the problem from returning later and actually totally fixes the current problem.
since the roof is having to be fixed, we haven't had the use of our satellite since thursday. which, for me, isn't that bad... but chris also hasn't hooked up the dvd player.
so janie has been watching vhs tapes on the old trusty vcr. she has watched the lion king, the rescuers, and mary poppins.
she protested about mary poppins, but it didn't take too long for her to become glued to it.
but she still loves the lion king most.
so... here's to tomorrow being a better day than today... and here's to the best two roofers i know.
