disbelief
i got a phone call this morning from my cousin, catherine.
"momma's house is on fire..." her voice was cracking and i could tell that she was crying, and had been crying.
"what?!?" i asked in disbelief.
"it's burning. to the ground. it's gone. everything is gone..." her voice trailed off, and i could hear the fire engine sirens in the background.
"i'm on my way," what else could i do?
