holiday?
i said i would update on how the war of the beds went last night.
she slept all night IN HER OWN BED. she did wake up one time. but, hey, once?
i can handle once.
i can�t help but think, though, that since i have conveyed my good fortune, i will be condemned to a night of slumber with janie by my side once more.
why?
because it never fails.
any time i brag on something or someone it always comes back to BITE ME IN THE ASS.
so...here�s how this past week was suppose to go. i am a ten-month employee for the state. this means that i have to work a month longer than the regular nine-month employees (which are most of the teachers). the way the time is broken down is that we are to work two weeks after school is out of session and two weeks before it goes back into session. instead of working five days a week, eight hours a day, we are to work four � ten hour days.
makes sense, right?
well, monday was a holiday. memorial day. so we didn�t work. this is when i need to point out that TEACHERS DO NOT GET PAID FOR HOLIDAYS. ANY DAYS OFF THAT WE HAVE (CHRISTMAS, THANKSGIVING, ETC...) ARE NOT PAID. WE ONLY GET PAID FOR DAYS THAT WE WORK.
except in this situation...
*sigh*
okay...so this week i have worked three days. and we don�t work on fridays. this coming monday is some kind of holiday (even though, i�m not really sure what we are holidatin�) so next week i will only work three days as well.
OH MY GOODNESS!
a teacher getting a PAID holiday?!?
who would have ever thunk it?

p.s. i found out that the first monday in june is celebrated as jefferson davis's birthday.
